Sunday 1st October from 3 PM will see the drivers and cars arriving at Leeds Castle for the first Carbon Black event.

Leeds Castle will host the opening VIP party for the 54 drivers / co drivers from around the world, plus a VIP guest list of some of the most famous names on the rally scene. After the drivers have signed on and registered they will park their cars on display in front of the castle.

On Monday 2nd October, the start line will be the main drive of Leeds Castle where the drivers will be in their cars by 9am.

The flag will drop at 9.30 am as the cars set off to the Eurotunnel and a week of madness.

Tycoon Paul revs up for £1m rally venture

Tycoon Paul Naden today took the wraps off his new £1m venture - organising European car rallies. Paul, 37, made more than £25m when he sold Macclesfield and Manchester-based loans and mortgages firm HFS Group to American financial giant Capital One in 2004.

He stayed on as managing director of the business as it was integrated into Capital One but left in April to pursue a new career.

Now he is preparing to launch Carbon Black, a Wilmslow-based enterprise which will stage rallies for luxury car enthusiasts. The first event, to be staged in October, has attracted 30 teams from 19 countries and interest from a TV company.

The drivers will set off from Leeds Castle in Kent and drive through France, Spain and Switzerland before finishing in Milan six days later.
